I have a Grudig Radio, with similar features, which I bought back in the 1992 for about $ 100.00. It was a great radio. I needed a replacement. I cjose this one and it works well. The signal to noise ratio is a little high and the sound clarity is OK, not great. But this radio does have good sensitivity and selectivity. The knobs are a little stiff, but otherwise, this is a good value, especially if you find one for about $ 20.

not really good in remote areas during daytime, I thought it was a long range fringe area radio but in reality it isn,t . but quality of radio is excellent and works well with all of its other features.

For a pocket sized radio it delivers good sound. AM reception is very good, FM not so much (but you don't get this to listen to Hendrix), SW is good for a radio this size. Easy to operate. Because it truly analog the two AA batteries last a very long time. I've had the same alkaline batteries in it for probably around 200 hours of playtime and it is still going strong. The local/DX switch is a big plus. It has input jacks for headphones and DC, but adapter and headphones are not included. I understand this radio has been discontinued which is unfortunate. If you can find one in the $20 - $25 price range get it.

The tuning knob is string, which I expect will break anytime. I know this kind of tuner, and I can tell it is string. The reception is not all that good. Have to move the antenna to the right location and even then it is not crisp and clear. You get what you paid for I suppose, but for China this is an expensive product.
