Tribes' Baby is an awesome summery upbeat collection of tunes with some deep and tear-inducing tracks thrown in the batter. Someone told me that "halfway home" nearly makes them cry and I can see why! "Sappho" and "whenever" have to be my favorites but 'whenever' any of them come on i can't help but smile. The vocals have a lot of soul and emotion whilst still being almost deadpan and there are a few sweet guitar riffs. The album kicks off with whenever, from a small amalgamation of generic noises building into the up beat opening summery lyrics and fades out with "bad apple" talking about life becoming shorter and the day i die getting a little closer. All this doom and gloom stuff has a somewhat beautiful and slightly comforting feeling, not morbid, just contented. I look forward to hearing their new album, "wish to scream" out soon. A Life Affirming, blunt, beautiful piece of plastic, well worth the coins asked. Such a good sound track to anyone's day... you should give it a try if you want to feel a bit of love!Read full review
