This movie will remain a classic even as the years drift by. Directed by Martin Scorsese, one of the greatest directors ever, it intimately and explicitly details the life and isolation of Travis Bickle. You see him become a cool, chilling man, self-motivated to clear the "scum" and "filth" which he sees on the street. Travis, the taxi driver, is just an average man in a concrete jungle. You can feel his sense of isolation to an extent, with few friends and family. After ruining a date with Betsy, his girlfriend, he seems to instantly change from a reasonably nice person into a monster, basically. The ending is very surprising considering the crimes he has committed. Considering it was made in 1976, the film was very brave in starring Jodie Foster as a child prostitute, and some of the language used is quite strong, but this only adds to the power this film holds. It really should go down as one of the best films ever made.Read full review
