A few weeks ago I picked up the "The Surgeon", the first in the Rizzoli and Isles series at a charity shop. It was fabulous and I immediately went onto ebay and secured the rest of the series. They are all terrific thrillers and the term "page turner" does not do them justice. "The Killing Place" breaks the mould and is merely average. Gerritsen has been accused of being too formulistic with the others and has tried something different here (if it aint broke, don't fix it - I say). This lacks the flow of others and too many elements of the story line just don't seem to fit. There is also the problem that having developed the characters, Gerritsen now has to fit their changed life circumstances into the new story line - inevitably something has to give. Read the rest of the series, but don't worry about missing out on this one. At least with "The Killing Place" you can put the book down and get some sleep!Read full review

I decided to buy this as I have read Tess Gerritsens books before. I was not disappointed with my purchase it was gripping throughout kept me on the edge of my chair almost fainting at one point when a door banged shut in my own house! no further comment just read it & be prepared to be scared!
