Danish western film THE SALVATION takes place in 1870s America, and tells the tale of peaceful Danish settler Jon (Mads Mikkelson), who seeks revenge on the people who killed his family. After his cowardly fellow townsfolk betray him, Jon is forced to hunt down gang leader and land baron Delarue (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) by himself. Also stars Eva Green as Delarue's mute (having had her tongue ripped out) and widowed sister-in-law.

    Same old, same old

    If you are a true Western fan (such as I) then I feel that you will be a little disappointed with this film. Although the characters are very good and the whole production is well done, It's a trail that several western films have been down before. No real surprises, nothing new to the old familiar plot. On the plus side . . . if you are not a great follower of westerns, then you will love it.
