Introducing the Torchwood Institute in Cardiff. Captain Jake Harkness is in charge of the Torchwood group. It is a good spin off from Doctor Who, (SPOLIER ALERT!!!!!!!) in the doctor Who timeline it takes place from sometime after the episodes Army of Ghost and Doomsday where the London Torchwood has been destroyed by the Daleks and Cybermen.
Torchwood - Series 1 Volume.1 (DVD) Review: Gruesome scenes with strong language. Ok has it's moments but could be a little more funny! Contains Strong Language and Sex Refrences. Do not recomend this to parents who show it to there children, Cert: 15+ Could be better, uptheimps123
Let's be honest, Touchwood was a great concept, but when it got to the screen it was all over the place. Cap'tn Jack started as a great characterand would have stayed so if Steve Moffit was writing him. In many ways this is the kids version of Dr Who. But, having said all that the series does bear watching again. This disc includes the first five episodes from the pilot 'Everything changes' through to 'Small Worlds'(Which is probally the best one on the disc. You also get 'Cyberwoman' (episode four) which is almost too silly for words. Also on the disc ther are a number of short featurettes, which I beleave are edited versions of Torchwood uncovered.
This DVD was a gift for my son . He found it very exciting as he loves Torchwood and Dr Who. We watched it togther and I found the underlying storyline had lots of moral values in it which were excellent. The cinematography and the graphics were top notch. Also this was such good value. I could have hired it for about the same price but he has viewed it again and again with different friends.
