They are large bells that make a loud noise. They work most of the time, although I think one of my cats still manages to catch baby birds, I surmise that is due to their inexperience rather than the bells' ineffectiveness.

I am disappointed by this bell.. It's fair quality, well made but it's not LOUD! I have a cat that's a fantastic, patient hunter and I wanted to give the poor critters he hunts a fighting chance.. The info said it was LOUD... it's not that loud at all. So I will continue to try and find a LOUD bell. So I recommend the bell from a well made, good value for money but if like me you want LOUD. this bell is not it..

Not sure if my cat's very fast or very crafty when hunting but I want to load the dice in favour of the birds, mice, beetles and frogs in my garden. So far she has three bells on her collar, including two Trixie bells. They make a nice noise, as well as being light to wear.

I like the bells and love the colours. I bought two, one for each of my cats, who catch far too many birds. It seems that the bird catching may have abated slightly since they got their bells. I can hear the cats coming, and the bells don't seem to annoy them. In fact, they seem to like to know each other's whereabouts for pouncing purposes. I will remove the bells in the winter to give them a break from the constant ringing.

Our two cats had already been fitted with a special bird/mouse scaring collar which are effective to an extent - they just needed to be louder which the bells provide. Perfect!
