My daughter has problems cooking rice. We tested it today and I thought the end product was slightly sticky, but she said it was the best she had every cooked. I think it is matter of trial and error, plus personal preference. Instructions are minimal. Her microwave is 750 watts, whilst mine is 900 watts, so cooking time will vary and the advice given is to start with shortest cooking time and work up gradually. However, we cooked for shortest stated time (7 mins), but I still felt the rice was slightly overcooked in my microwave. Generally though, the cooker is bigger than I expected. Would certainly serve 1 to 4 people with ease. The item is light weight plastic, but not necessarily flimsy, what you would expect for standard microwave cookware at this excellent price. So, I bought this little pot to cook rice in my microwave. I trialled it out with one cup of rice and the recommended amount of water. After the requisite amount of cooking time, I opened the microwave to find a mess of rice water outside the pot and very very al dente rice inside it. Huge disappointment but as the pot was inexpensive perhaps you really do get what you pay for. Ho hum, another one chalked down to experience.

Works very well, but biodegradable after 3 to 5 years. Achieves just over 100 C at less than one bar because plastic, which it has to be made from to be suitable for a microwave, is quite flexible and cannot build up much higher temperature than 100 C.

A great device. It just fits inside my standard microwave. This is very easy to use to make rice, one scoop of dry rice to 1½ scoops of cold water. Microwave for around 15-18 minutes depending on the microwaves power. It does other things too but cooking rice is my limit, I'm a bloke. It all comes apart for cleaning, including the lid (3 white bits) but I don't remove any green bits. I have used it a few times and the only problem I have had is the last time the lid's base stayed on the pan part when I lifted the lid off (possibly due to the vacuum it creates with the top green vent closed as it cools). Still it's easy to snap back together and I do take it apart to clean inside the lid after use anyway. Just rinse, wipe (to make sure all the bits of rice have gone), rinse again and dry.

Simple and easy to use with many different uses. I have used one of these daily for a number of years. Particularly good for fresh vegetables both roots and leaves. It also makes proper porridge as well as cooking great meat stew dishes. They last with this constant use for about 18months to 2 years and they still work even when the clamps go and they can no longer be used as a pressure cooker. I would not be without one.
