I give it four stars because of the ''instruction manual'' which seems to be written in a language from the planet Zogg. Going on youtube will help here. Otherwise, the unit seems well made and the readings are reasonable accurate. As a retired pro sparks, I know what i am looking for. The unit is useful for finding ''vampire watts'', which is the energy used by equipment left on standby for extended periods, and sucking the lifeblood out of your wallet! ( tv's/recorders/ and so on) : the results may produce some surprises. This unit could easily pay for itself over time.

The instructions are worse than useless - of no help at all to anyone that has even the slightest problem setting up devices. They contain words not known in the english language, phrases and sentences that make no sense whatsoever. It calls for batteries to be inserted - there is no place to insert batteries, it is not possible to rate the item as the instructions make it impossible to understand how to get it working. Maybe ok if you are chinese - or whatever language it was originally written in.

I've only been using this for a couple of days to try to identify high consumption appliances but it does appear to be working OK - although I haven't seen it's on screen graph working yet. The only slight annoyance that I have spotted is that for the cost calculations the units are Euros and not Pounds. However if you just ignore the Euro symbol and treat it as if it's Pounds then it;s fine!

It does what it says on the tin. The only problem is that the instructions are in a language unknown to anthropologists and I just had to press buttons and make it up as it goes along. There was an instruction to install a battery, but having opened it up I discovered that there was nowhere to put one - so presumably if there's a power cut you lose the data. A bit odd, but still good value for money.
