This book is ideal for anyone who wants to start to play the ukulele. It really does start at the beginning, with tuning and then one chord, (C, one finger on one string) followed by a song for that one chord. Then a second chord and songs for that. After three chords one can play along with a multitude of songs. I started to learn at the age of 80 and then changed to a banjolele. I always take this book with me when I attend the local branch of the George Formby Society or the conventions in Blackpool, in case I meet an absolute beginner who needs guidance.

As I am a older person trying to learn to play the ukulele , it is hard to learn written music ! But the rest of the book fantastic. There is an old saying " catch them young ". I personally think this is a good book for beginners, with help of someone who can read music.

Good selection of 2 and 3 chord songs. Simple explanations of chords and strumming. And even a few more complicated songs at the end. Great for me with my little one, mostly children's songs.
