I had an bolt that was stuck and I tried to get it off but rounded it. I had tried everything . It was the big bolt at the bottom of the strut. Then i was told about this and it worked really well and bolt came off with ease. Now I'm confident I can remove any bolt. The only problem I had with it was it was really sticky but didn't bother me. So thanks for the product

All of these types of sockets claimed to be a locking wheel nut remover seem to be from the same manufacturer, so there seems to be little difference in the quality or design of these. In this, the end profile, which is rounded, needs to be ground flat before you have any reasonable hope these sockets will remove some types of locking wheel nut, so get your bench grinder out, grind the rounded end profile off. According to the type of locking wheel nut you are dealing with. you may find that there is simply not enough clearance between the locking nut and the wheel recess for the socket to grip the wheel nut and it is a wise precaution while you have these on the grinder to remove a couple of millimetres off off the presumably now squared off outside end of the socket. wrap the outside with insulating tape before using. I used one of these to remove a set of mercedes oem locking wheel nuts, which were the type with a protruding collar with this result, the (modified) socket removed two locking wheel nuts easily, the third and fourth wheel nut protruding studs sheared off, so out with the Dynomec set and sledgehammer which was the only method left to remove these. As the basic principle of use is to find an "almost fits" socket and hammer it on to the wheel nut, it is worth pointing out here that there are some types of locking wheel nuts are hardened steel, some have a rotating outer collar designed to defeat the spiral sockets, either of these need further work before even attempting to remove them. The hardened steel types (test with a centre punch, no dimple, it is hardened steel). This type will defeat even a Dynomec and will have to have a suitable nut welded on to them. The rotating collar type will have to have this removed with a cold chisel. On some types of locking wheel nuts I have found it necessary to alter the tooth profile even on Dynomec keys. The older locking wheel nuts which take an actual key to unlock can be removed with a ground flat stubby screwdriver, hammer this into the key slot to smash the tumblers. I have not used these spiral sockets on any hardened steel locking wheel nuts, they may, or may not work. Lastly, remember to buy a new set of locking wheel nuts before you start removing any on the vehicle, get a can of Soudal degrip (available on Ebay), slacken off the non locked wheel nuts, get the locking wheel nut to the top of the wheel, spray Soudal liberally at the back of the locking wheel nut, go off for a cup of coffee, wrap insulating tape around the socket before hammering it on! There are some vehicles, Jaguar and new Range Rovers which use special two part removal keys, either cough up for the appropriate Dynomec removal key or shunt these off to the Main dealer and be prepared for a hefty bill. Lastly, don't expect too much from any spiral socket, it is pretty much a suck it and see situation, these can be useful so for the modest price it is worth keeping a set in your toolkit.Read full review

This socket remover set does the job easily. It took only seconds to give a vice like grip around a badly rounded sump plug on a Honda scooter which it removed immediately. Quality looks to be very good at a competitive price.
