Cannot comment on reliability having only just received the cleaner. I tested the battery and it ran, from fully charged, for 48 min on low power which matches the claimed run time. Being refurbished there was some evidence of previous use, but overall the condition was very good, with all the extras included. The crevice tool, when extended, lacks a bit of rigidity but is usable. Unextended, it's OK. The other tools I haven't needed to use so far. Based on the short time I've had it, I'd say the cleaning aspects match my expectations [it's not an up-market Dyson at an up-market price]. Compared to the Bosch 25.2V Athlete it seems to pick up larger pieces of debris better [the Bosch tends just to push them around] but the suction on high power is not as great. On the other hand, you can still push it about without too much effort - the Bosch on high power virtually sticks to the floor and is hard to push. The Vax high power suction is about the same as the Bosch on medium power. The Vax brush head seems to get deeper into the carpet and digs out a bit more stuff than the Bosch. Emptying the Vax is easier and cleaner than the Bosch. Filter cleaning seems likely to be easier with the Vax but I have yet to confirm this. The handle I find a bit uncomfortable for extended use, and the weight and balance are acceptable for this type of design. The build quality appears to be adequate rather than excellent, although everything seems to 'click' into place with decent precision. At full price I'd give it 3.5/5. At around £80 refurbished, it's more like 4.5/5 assuming it doesn't fall apart or stop working within a couple of years or so.Read full review

Good product and fairly powerful but I would recommend using it on the boost function as normal function mode is in my opinion, rather week. It certainly holds enough charge to complete our 2 bedroom home on boost, so all good. One thing I'm not overjoyed at is the fact that it doesn't lift small hard particles..or ,it does but they fall back down the tube when you switch off. Overall, pretty good quality for the price and fairly happy with my purchase.

This vacuum is surprisingly very good . Picks up dirt that you can't even see . Yes It's not as good as the leading corded vacuums but it's as powerful as a standard corded vacuum . It does the job with some battery life to spare . It gives 45 minutes run time thanks to its upgraded 32V battery . It has an electronically activated brush bar which is superb for stubborn dirt and carpets and rugs etc . The weight is not too light and not too heavy which is perfect for me . It has a nice battery display and 2 buttons to activate the brush bar and the boost suction mode . Charging time is few hours which is not too bad . It looks very modern and stylish . I'm quite happy with the suction power as it gets the job done nicely . I recommend this vacuum to all .

This cordless cleaner is easy to use and I had no instruction manual to help me. The suction is very good and it gets a lot of dirt off the carpets. There is a boost button but I find it works well without it and I haven't had to use the boost function yet. It's very easy to empty and to clean the filters. I would recommend this as a good buy

Love this VAX, had the lower voltage model before this which packed up after a few months, ( seemed that the motor on the brush bar gave up) but was willing to give this one a chance as I like it’s performance ( and I am fussy about clean and dust free floors). I like that it is lightweight for whizzing around when you are in a rush, ideal for a fast clean on the stairs, or when you can’t be bothered with your heavy vac. It is easy to empty, and the filters are easy to wash and dry, I do this regularly to keep its performance and I bought another set so you don’t have to wait for them to dry. The brush bar does get wrapped up with hair, and my hair is long so that has to be removed regularly. The suction doesn’t feel massive, but it picks up stuff my bigger vac doesn’t, it has a boost for the brush bar which certainly helps to get probably as clean as any vacuum and it makes the pile on the carpet look good. Good value provided it lasts longer than the previous model, and I would definitely choose this 32v model.Read full review
