I purchased this small Vivitar camera as a replacement for a broken one that my daughter was using. The camera is not of the best quality, but easy to use and takes reasonable pictures. One downside is that it gets through batteries very quickly and hope that this replacement won't fail in the same way as the previous one.
As this is a used unit, review is somewhat limited. It works, it's good for a 3.1MP camera. Light and easy to use. Slot for an SD card. Overall good condition.

This camera I bought for my 9 year old daughter to use as she has been using her mums camera and I thought it time to buy her a camera of her own. Camera is small and light and perfect for a young girl to use as the controls are very simple to use, I tried it out myself and keeping a steady hand gets you a perfectly acceptable photograph thats sharp and with good saturation for a 3.1 megapixel camera, Haven't tried the movie mode yet but looks to be able to get 20fps in VGA mode and 30fps in QVGA mode..These movies are recorded in .AVI format and the photographs are stored in .jpeg format, so most computers will have no problems recognising, playing and storing them.. You can up the resolution to over 8 megapixels using software interpolation but then the picture quality suffers quite badly, In my opinion the standard 3.1 megapixels setting is the one to use all the time, this camera also comes with a self timer and a built in flash but don't expect to be taking pics indoors at night as the flash is only good for about 6-8 feet max, any further than that and the photo will be underexposed and very dark. This camera is designed for taking snaps in good light situations indoors and out, but not for low light level photography at night time, but then you would never buy this camera for that reason anyway, The 1.5"inch colour screen is easy to look at and read but does suffer from sun glare if in direct sunlight.. It also takes up to a 2GB SD card so storage of pics and Movies will be no problem, these SD cards can now be picked up very cheaply nowadays and can be had for around a fiver for a decent 2GB card at most outlets on the internet.. A couple of reviews I have read have slated the camera but unfortunately its the user who should have been reviewed in these cases, as incompetence in using a simple digital camera comes easy to these people..You know the old saying "A bad workman always blames the tools" If your looking for a cheap reliable camera that takes honest average pictures then this is your bag, if your after superfine images of exceptional quality then go buy an SLR.. This would make a perfect camera to keep in the glove compartment of the car as its inexpensive and small, so easy to tuck away. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and this is true in this instance..Read full review
