This is a great DVD if you want to know about the Monday Night War that took place from 1995-2001 in the world of pro-wrestling. Despite WWE making this DVD it is a decent chronological coverage of all the events which made the war must see TV. A couple of things that annoyed me with this DVD is that McMahon tries to paint the picture that he was a poor promoter trying to compete with the evil Turner Coporation, when back in the 80s he totally screwed every regional promotion in Northern America when he took the WWF national. Hypocrite much? Also the WWE never actually admits the reason WCW was regarded as the Number 1 promotion during the first part of the war is the fact the it was the better show, mixture of lucha/Jap/american style matches from the opening to mid-card matches then in the Main event the NWO and all the stars (even Hogan was red-hot on Promos and actually made an effort in his matches). Apart from those two points the rest of the DVD is filled with interview clips from all the major wrestlers whose careers changed for the better including Chris Jericho & Big Show (although Show should have had a gym membership tied into his contract. lol). The DVD extras are a bit lame as I would have preferred a compliation of all the wrestlers defecting angles and promos laying into the other promotions, instead of a bunch of matches which although are decent dont really highlight the war itself. Recommend this DVD if you liked Rise & Fall of ECW (Which I think is the best WWE DVD released).Read full review
