For the money, this is a great office chair, I really love it, but it can be a bit of a headache putting it together. The chair arrived very quickly and was well packaged. Everything was there in the box and (if everything goes well) it won't take too long to assemble. I followed the instruction sheet, which was in picture form on a single A4 sheet and fairly easy to follow. I'm a bit of a DIY type with years of practice and also come from an engineering background, so this should have been a doddle. I started with the feet. Four of the five casters married up fine, but the fifth one wouldn't, so I had a look and noticed some excess solder had formed a ridge inside where the caster was supposed to fit, this wasn't a problem as such as I had the tools to be able to file the solder down and fit the caster, but if you aren't very handy, or don't have any tools, this would have stopped the job straight away. Getting the back of the chair to marry up with seat was another hurdle which needed a bit of jiggery pokery to get the bolt holes lined up with the bolts, but once that was done it was fine. One good tip is don't tighten all the bolts up until you have the arms bolted in place first as you will need a bit of flexibility in the chair to get everything lined up, but once that's done make sure you tighten all of the bolts up fully and that will give you a rock solid chair. Attaching the central piston to the feet and the base of the seat of the chair is very easy and once you've done that, you're away. Quality control appears to be a bit lacking, but as I say once it's all together and tightened up, It's a great and very comfortable chair. The end result is well worth it.Read full review

THE WORST.......POOR QUALITY STITCHING,NO SYMETRY BETWEEN LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES....SPLIT AND SCRATCHED WOOD ON ONE OF THE ARMS AND THE PANELS ON THE BASE LEGS AND IS POORLY ENGINEERED....THE CENTER POLE THAT JOINS THE SEAT TO THE STAND IS JUST SLID IN TO PLACE ON NOT MOUNTED TO EITHER, SO WHEN YOU SIT IN THE CHAIR IT WOBBLES LIKE A WEEBLE AND MOST A RECENT DEVELOPMENT IS IT HAS STARTED TO RECLINE WHICH HAS MADE IT DANGEROUS AS IT'S NOT MEANT TO DO THIS AND WILL TIP OVER......IF IT DID'NT HAVE PULL IT APART,STORE IT AND WAIT FOR IT TO COLLECTED I WOULD HAVE SENT IT BACK....TOO MUCH HASSLE FOR THE MONEY,ALL I RSCAN DO IS WARN OTHE

After much umming and ah'ing after reading some of the reviews of this chair, I decided to take the plunge and go for it - "its a relatively cheap chair" The chair arrived flat pack as expected. Please be aware the instructions included are useless! A common sense approach builds this chair. The undercarriage where the wheels click in was bubble wrapped, I had to undo the screws to the wooden trim pieces to remove the wrap. When I went to re-assemble i realised that the screws didn't really have much 'bite'; as the wooden trim pieces are softwood - No bother - "its a relatively cheap chair" - So I used some grip fill in the wooden trim piece channels and then screwed back them back together - this will ensure that the trim pieces will never fall off. 4 of the 5 wheels clicked in with no bother.... the 5th wheel would not go in for love nor money... after closer inspection it was apparent that there was an almost microscopic spot of stray 'weld' stopping the wheel from inserting - No bother - "its a relatively cheap chair" - a round file remedied this problem in seconds. The lifting cylinder slotted into the base easily, and the plastic trim pieces slotted over that easily. Now - numerous previous reviewers complained about the armrests not lining up with the back rest and the seat. Overcome this by - - Screwing in the seat and back rest connecting bolts by only a few turns, leave them very loose. - Then screw in the armrests on both sides - you can leave these loose for now as well. - Then return to the seat and back rest bolts and tighten up all the way. - Then return to the armrest bolts and tighten up all the way.. et voila! :-) no problemo! now attach the undercarriage to the base of the chair - and your done. It took about half hour with the fiddly bits, but it was well worth the effort - No bother - "its a relatively cheap chair" When complete the chair is an absolute gem. Its comfortable, supportive, it has a tilt mechanism too; that is adjustable. I have shown this to friends and family - and all are impressed! - "its a relatively cheap chair!!!!" I agree with some of the previous reviewers that the finish on the wood is a bit moody... :-) but hey get over it, or get yourself to Staples and spend £300+ quid for something equivalent. I hope this review is helpful.Read full review

Beautiful chair, let down by quality control. Well worth the money and looks amazing, but the wooden arms had slight marks on it which I'll have to go over with a mahogany gloss. In addition, one arm obviously had a paint problem as it had been covered up with PURPLE paint !! Someone in the company presumably did this to try and disguise an issue, but at least use the right colour!! Shocked to see it as this is no way for a manufacturing company to sell something. I was going to return it, but luckily that part was where it joins the seat so was hidden anyway. Comfort wise, it's good with plenty of support, not amazing but you can certainly sit in it for long hours without pain.

For the price this chair is absolutely excellent. Extremely comfortable and looks good (although bear in mind that at this price it won’t be perfect in terms of varnishing work, etc). As with all similar chairs it can be a bit of a nuisance to put together, but having done a few before it only Took me about 20 minutes. Build quality is good and ref complaints about drill holes in other reviews, you just have to lean it against a wall and put a bit of elbow grease into getting seat and back together. Overall very satisfied.
