I used this product in combination with physically cleaning out the EGR valve (on a 190k mile Renault Clio 1.5dCi which was marginal on particulate emissions - it showed a reading of 2.95 out of a possible 3.00 at the MOT). The car failed on other MOT points so I wanted to be sure it wouldn't stumble on particulate emissions when it was re-tested. It's almost impossible to clean out the inlet manifold without a lot of work so I decided to use this product in conjunction with the EGR stripdown. Hence it is impossible to say what improvements were the result of the product and which were brought about by the physical EGR cleaning. I used half a can (I wanted to keep some back for the next MOT!). After physical and spray-can cleaning of the EGR valve I got the particulate reading down to 2.7 which is a 10% improvement over it's previous level. I couldn't see any instructions on the can so I got my guidance from good old YouTube. Best to apply into the inlet tract in very small squirts as the engine clatters loudly if a lot is ingested in one go. The loud clatter may not be doing the engine any harm but it certainly sounds like it is. Otherwise very easy to use. Bottom line is that it is difficult to say whether there is any significant improvement due to the use of this product alone but it may have contributed to a lowering of the particulate emissions in this case.Read full review

Citroen C3 1.6HDI was starting and running okay and no engine light on but had a poor intermittent flat spot and felt the engine hesitant when warm at junctions, so plugged it in to laptop and checked operation of EGR not a whisper as Its electrically operated, testing it by computer silent and no fault codes saying faulty or as mentioned no lights. Saw the price of a new valve and the hassle of getting it off so less than a tenner its worth a try. Did as instructions and its like the old days of spraying in easy start... engine doesn't like it but keep the revs at 1500 and spray in the tin, till its all gone at 1 second bursts and every 30 seconds , give the car a run out for ten minutes after application and watch the crap out of the exhaust blow out into the atmosphere so much for being kind to the environment.. can I just say on road test it was like a rocket ship like brand new car again ... back home on the computer plugged in laptop to test egr and you can hear the flap move when in test mode ...so job fixed and money saved and car restored ... don't know for how long but bought another tin for next application soon don't know whats in the tin but it worked for me and the wife is back with full power again and not nagging about the car ... try it and give it ago saved me a few quid Read full review

My diesel car was ticking over very lumpy and I needed to run in a higher gear when driving at low speed. I needed to be in 2nd gear at 30mph instead of 3rd or even 4th gear. After asking a mechanic I tried the EGR cleaner. There were no instructions but plenty of video's on line. after spraying in the whole can in short bursts and taking the car for a high revs run it is back to normal. The engine management warning light did come on but went out after a day. Very pleased.

I used this yesterday. Easy. Took car for a drive. It had been stuttering on pick up a lot. Squirted in before the maf sensor after the air box. Wasn't sure if that was going to be the most effective as I wanted to clean the egr valve. After use, I cannot stress enough how important it is to let the engine idle for 10 mins to burn any residue off. I did not. But I did create a black cloud that almost covered the street 😂😂😂 After I made sure it actually was clear, I went for a spin. And it was remarkable. No stutter, clean pick up and...best of all, I could select 4th at 30mph and engage cruise control. Before it would have shook and shuddered trying to do that. The fuel economy looks extremely good too. 2.0hdi Citroen. Would have used it much sooner if I'd known it was that good.
