  • Great Macro Lens

I have been wanting a "proper" Macro lens for years and had always made do with a Raynox screw on lens which did work well but the Raynox is only around 40mm diameter and most of my DSLR lenses have 70mm+ filter threads so not and didn't let in much light. I recently decided to buy a mint condition Canon 5D Mk2 full frame DSLR and many of my lenses were designed for crop sensor EFs DSLRS like my trusty Canon 600D and wouldn't work on the 5D Mk2 so needed lenses for full frame. I did the usual by Googling "Canon EF Macro lenses" and came up with some beauties like the 100mm EF L and they look brilliant but my budget was quite a bit lower than the minimum of £600+ so decided to check out alternative lenses and found some Sigma/Tokina and Tamron lenses again most of them were ££££££ until I found a mint Tamron 90mm f2.8 EF fit and after double checking on review sites I decided to go for it at a quarter of the price of the the other brands. Well I have to say out of all my lenses some of which are very expensive the little Tamron is soooooooooo sharp! the colours are lovely and it is basically a brand new unused and boxed bargain, I will have great fun exploring all the features on the 5D Mk2 and the Tamron 90mm will probably be lkept attached as its such a great lens. If you find one cheap on Ebay BUY IT you won't be disappointed .

  • Great value for Monday lens!

Very good quality of the optics, takes sharp images even if the autofocus can be a bit slow and noisy! Good for macro, especially if manual focus is used. Some chromatic aberration with ho aperture, but several great value for money!

  • Macro lens

Great value lens, sharp images with good colour. Used it for plant macro as well as normal 90mm general photography. Good bokeh. It also gets used constantly on Sony A7rii. Excellent all round lens.
