Nice classic pencil sharpener.
This and the old white with woodgrain KP-110 are very similar. The newer Black KP-110 are completely different on the inside. They look similar but the internal parts have all been changed. However they both work the same as I have both versions and have taken both apart for maintenance. As for using something like this the KP-123/110/310 are NOT heavy duty sharpeners. What are is basically a medium duty sharpener. They have a smaller sized shavings bin and are built using parts that aren't as heavy duty as say the KP-8a or KP-100N or KP-33 sharpeners. But the KP-123/110/310 are just small compact units perfect for anyone to use in a casual sense. Like of you're into drawing or something. They won't stand up to classroom use. The downside of these sharpeners is that they're going on 30+ years old (KP-310 is about 25 years old) so basically if you're mechanically inclined it would be good to use new Silicone grease for the gears and gear shafts. And a drop of oil on the blades axle. Other then that these Panasonic's are of much better quality then what's available today.
