Great condition and a very crisp image.

I bought this product to add to my other lenses and to take landscape photos. I like this product as it suits my purpose and the person i bought it off was very honest with the questions i asked him. I have not rearly compared this to others, the only thing was the price i paid and i was able to get it within my buget.
This lens is really clear with a good macro facility, I would recomend check out these photos http://www.flickr.com/photos/peterbrewster/sets/72157630157477538/
I bought one of these used as a cheap everyday lens, I just wanted 17 or 18mm with 2.8 aperture. I already gave the Canon 18-55 and 18-135 five stars, and I can't give this any more, but if I'm going to take photos now, this is my first choice. The lack of image stabilisation may put some off, but so far, I haven't missed it. The great picture quality at higher iso of my 600D and the 2.8 aperture may have something to do with it. I would say it is on a par with the Canon 18-135 for picture quality, but with less chromatic aberrations. Sharp accutance (if you can apply that term to digital) and strong colours. The Canon 18-55 looks abit soft and washed out in comparison. I am well chuffed with my purchase.
I won this lens over eBay by chance and after using it for a couple of weeks I ended up selling my kit lenses and the canon 50mm 1.8 - this is how good this lens is :) From landscape (which I havent done yet), macro to portrait, this lens does it all. The focus is much faster than the canon kit lenses and photographs are S.h.a.r.p! I plan on keeping this lens and the only upgrade I can think of is the OS HSM version. Samples at http://goo.gl/QdH7l
