The phone is what it needs to be, I press the answer button, and I receive a call. Funny thing is, these days phones tend to try to be something their not.(HD Video camera, Personal entertainment system, Social networking hub.) Some phones do this well, others fall way short, and neglect the fact that it is suppose to be a phone first. It is robust (in the Blackberry way). Internet is slow, but it is 2G and for the price, thats fine. The camera works, the email works very well, as you would expect from a Blackberry. If you want a phone thats a phone, this is it..... It does exactly what it says on the tin!
I bought this phones because while my son is at work he cannot be reached. this phone can via email garanty contact where other ways were not possible. I bought one for my son and one for his wife. They carrie on praising this phones. In the mean time I also know how and that I can reach him. It is a very good feeling.I can really recommend Blackberry mobile phones.
I picked this phone because the price was great, it's easy to work and has more than enough features. I was reluctant to buy a BlackBerry because I only needed a phone to make calls! but this phone has helped me get more up to date with things, I wouldnt change anything about it and highly recommended.
I love this product, I cannot find any faults or features that I don't like. I would highly recommend this item. I can see me having many more Blackberry's in the future!
bought this as my festival phone so i wouldn't damage mine but it's been 3 weeks since the festival and haven't switched back. love this phone!
I've had quite a few Blackberry's over the years and they are all pretty good and the 8110 is no exception. It is a candy bar format device so it looks more like a phone than alot of other devices from RIM. It is small, light and easy to carry around. It has has a camera, a flash and a 3.5mm headphone socket so it makes a reasonable multimedia device as well. As to be expected email is brilliant, once setup with you mobile provider (a bit of a chore) emails just arrive, you can seperate them out by address or have them all appear in one place, great. Build quality is good and the screen is OK for a device this size. It has a track ball for moving around as well as some dedicated keys (which are programmable). Battery life is OK at 2-3 days and I like the external micro SD slot so I can change chips without having to take the battery out. Some people have reported the trackballs can get sticky so if you buy a second hand one check this out. I really like the 3.5mm headphone socket, I put my music on a 8 Gig memory chip and with my decent headphone sound was great. The device has GPS built in and I loaded Nav4all which gives turn by turn navigation and along with googlemaps provides a cool navigation tool. I used this device instead of a full SATNAV, it's not quite as good but I don't have to carry multiple devices and keep them all charged (MP3 player, TOMTOM, Camera and Phone). Now for the bad. Most Blackberry's have a full keypad, this one has a 20 key keypad with some keys having two letters, this takes some getting used to. When I first started using it, it drove me mad and I was going to send the device back. With some practice it actually works quite well I am glad I was patience with it, if you are used to a normal phone pad for texting etc you will get used to this pretty quick. This phone can be bought for £80 so at that price it is a bargain for what you get. The camera sucks. There is no nice way to say this, it only takes average pictures in good lighting, in all other conditions its grainy and colours are washed out. Movie mode isn't bad but nothing great either but at least it has a movie mode and since phtography is not it's primary purpose I suppose I can forgive it. This device does not have 3G or WI-FI, so if you want fast browsing this aint for you (Get a bold 9000 or 9700). Summmary. A good device for email in a small lightweight package with some multimedia features. Keypad and camera let it down some. I'd give this phone 7.5 out of 10. Also look a the 8310, or the 8800 both are cheap and have full keyboards, if you want a better camera then the 8900 is a good choice but it costs double.Read full review
Blackberry Pearls have been around 3 or 4 years now, the original 8100 had no gps, or wifi, the 8110 added gps, and the 8120 wifi and gps. The 8110 is a nice phone even now, with an external access slot to insert your Micro-sd card. Fascias are cheap and relatively easy to replace, so you can pick up a lot of phone for your money if you want to spend a little time on it. The phone itself has bb messenger with a bb tariff and data plan, check with your network, the phone is only 2g so the best you can hope for is GPRS (I don't think EDGE works on the pearl but could be wrong?) Colour screen, customisable fascias, different themes for download, try searching for the precision zen theme downloadable for free. Ideal candy bar layout for the girls handbag as small in size. Half qwerty keyboard with two letters per key, takes some getting used to~ and no good for fat fingered people.. outstanding battery life as long as you keep bluetooth turned off! also reduce your backlight to 7 or 8 from default of 10. Pro's small, relatively cheap, customisable, gps, messenger con's not for big handed people, no wifi Cheers Ash All inRead full review
Very smart phone, its abit behind now compared to other blackberrys out at present but im using it purely for the emails so i can respond straight away. Good battery life when not used all the time. When you do use it all the time its as good as any other phone. Thanks Stel SDX Construction www.sdxconstruction.co.uk
Good phone, but was a bit difficult to get used to it after Nokias and Sony Ericssons. Really easy to write text massages, very comfortable keyboard. Would be better if the camera would be more quality, but even though is o'k.
The keyboard is a terrific feature on the BlackBerry pearl. The Suretype feature and the QWERTY layout allows the user to text quickly and efficiently. Also, the phone has a small, compact build with Bluetooth and media play ability. Cons: Unfortunately, the phone has poor media quality. The videos are often choppy and the sound is a bit off from the picture. Additionally, the menu features and the setup of the phone can be difficult to use. Summary: This phone is definitely worth the purchase. The main features are easy to use, efficient, the sound quality is great for AT&T, and it gets the job done. The video playback and some of the extras could be improved.
