DOPE RIDER!
I bought this book after seeing some pages from Dope Rider online, and boy does this book DELIVER. Several stories, pinups, and covers are accompanied by a wonderful multi-page essay by Mr Kirchner about his career in comics (featuring a lot of great photos). The quality of the book is top tier. Vibrant colors, good paper, in a large format that lets you appreciate the detail. AND MY GOD THE ART DEMANDS APPRECIATION. Stunning illustration skill meets surreal head trip psychedelia and a sideways sense of humor. Really incredible stuff.

Printed Book Actually Portal to Another Dimension–Enter Only If You Dare!
I’ve just received "Awaiting the Collapse" directly from Paul Kirchner and, of course, I’ve only had the chance to glance through it. But I wanted to let anyone interested that the production values of this book are through-the roof-outstanding. Print ain’t dead. Anyone with an interest in comic art with a capital A would be proud to have this important book in their collection. As for all you burned out, aging hippie types, like myself, you may remember Dope Rider, High Times magazine and marijuana. (Sorry, you’re supposed to say ‘cannabis’ now according to the Emily Post Institute). Then again, you may not, you old pothead. With your medical marijuana and your vape pens...! I do remember Dope Rider and some of the other vast output of Mr. Kirchner but there’s a lot that’s new to me here as well. Incredible buy!
Definitely one of the best comic anthologies I've ever bought. The bizarrely told stories and masterful artwork really make this work as a collection. If you're into explicit vintage comics and stoner culture, this is for you. The writing isn't the best, but the artwork makes up for it.
