S/H Sony a700
The price was good and the images are great for a camera that is approximately 12-14 years old now. It's a 12 megapixel CMOS sensor, but that's the same size as my Nikon d3 and d700 which I have photographed countless weddings with and have enlarged prints to 30x20 no problems. You also use up less storage space as the file size is less as opposed to the new sensors that are 40 -50 megapixels which in my opinion is not necessary unless you are cropping the hell out of you images. It's a solid camera that was around £800-£1000 when new but is still a great performer for a fifth of the new price. When my camera arrived, the condition was so good it almost felt new. Super Substantial Camera
Had this camera for many years, it had substantial use and it sadly developed a fault recently, so immediately went on the hunt for a replacement. This camera is just brilliant. Photo quality is superb, especially in close up. I am not an expert at taking pictures, but the photos are still excellent. It feels substantial, it feels well made, the lens supplied with this camera is excellent. We purchased a modern equivalent recently and it feels insubstantial and cheap by comparison. Still Brilliant.
From the Golden age of DSLR design, this Sony camera, which still had a lot of Konica/Minolta DNA, is still a great performer over a decade after its introduction. Made at a time when the market was expanding rapidly, all the manufacturers were inovating at breakneck speed and the A700 was Sony's state of the art design. The 16-105 is a superior kit lens sometimes included with this camera and works beautifully. The IQ is still very good even in comparison to newer cameras and the condition of this sample was as good as new. Solid well made camera
Does quite a bit more than my old A230. Controls are easer to use without having to go through different menus'. Haven't been able to get out and about for various reasons, but pictures taken in the garden have all come out better than I expected. I will be getting out and about over the next few weeks and can then give it a proper check, but s far everything looks very promising. A classic of 2007 for a great price
In its day, this camera body was one of the best in its class. The product is in super condition and operates perfectly. It represents excellent value. Ideal for those who have old Minolta lenses. It comes with buttons, switches, levers and dials everywhere which can seem a little frightening for the modern amateur, I guess, but having so much control at your fingertips is a great advantage in situations where you need to react quickly to changing conditions. no brainer not to buy sony
