  • I love this radio, it has Great reception for both AM & FM & Very easy to use !!

Pros: I love this radio, it has Great reception for both AM & FM. The sound quality is very good and adjustable with the treble & bass knobs and the wide or narrow settings. I needed this radio for the kitchen and specific areas outdoors where the reception of week signals made the previous portable radio worthless. If you don't like the modern digital tuning & presets for stations, this old school model might be just what you want. The power cord has a compartment for storage & is not detachable. If you use 6 D size batteries in it, it is a bit heavy but they last a long long time. Cons: The only feature that I wish this awesome portable radio had is a "line" input so other devices could be played thru it, but I knew that before buying it.

  • Old school high quality radio

Both a woofer & a tweeter speaker, with a tone control pot. Excellent sensitivity both AM & FM. D-cell power+AC cord. A bit heavy, but very sturdy handle levels playing field. Not digital turning, but the vernier tuning is easy and the radio has a narrow/wide frequency switch, which really helps in separating stations, day or night. Also has an external antenna connection, for those AM DX'ers. A bargain!

  • Excellent AM reception and battery life

I own 3 of these radios. They all are some of the best portables that were sold. AM broadcast is really good for late night DX-ing. I mostly use these on battery power, as they're quieter (no slight power supply hum). The batterys ("D" cells) seem to last forever. The radio is a bit bulky, but the quality makes up for it.

  • A simple AM-FM radio that have a good reception !

Nice unit, THE RECEPTION ON AM band is exellent. Overall this is a great radio for the quality and price range. The large speaker could be better on high volume. There are very few radio manufacturers left and I wish that at least one will fabricate good quality with less plastic and built like a tank ! All those LCD's display on todays modern radio will not last like the famous old dial !

  • Quality but lacking ease of use.

The radio is very precise and has great range. Those qualities can make it difficult to tune in lessor stations on a crowded dial. Preset station buttons would help in tuning in different favorite stations.

  • Great sounding AM/FM Radio

Great sounding AM/FM Radio.... true 2-way full range and tweeter speaker make this a great sounding radio for FM and especially for local AM stations. The dial calibration is horrible. This is the only bad thing about the radio. The radio works for a LONG TIME on 6 D cells.

  • DeerHaven. MN.

This is a very good unit, but it is a little more difficult to tune in distant fm stations we like. My original radio of the same era and model seems to be more presise and it's sound is slightly better, but this is still a good radio.

  • Best AM receiver ever., great sound with excellent sensitivity and selectivity.

Best AM receiver ever. Outperforms my CCrane radio in sensitivity, selectivity, and sound quality. Ability to switch to the wideband AM setting is great for music, almost sounds like FM. Very pleased.
