This book explains - in terms candid enough to make you wince at times - what intimidation is, why you become intimidated, and how you can avoid the mental lapses that occasionally cause even the most confident people to inadvertently, and unknowingly, become intimidated. Regardless of what your "game" is, there is one reality you should face up to right now: "The results a person obtains are inversely proportionate to the degree to which he is intimidated. It is not what you say or do that counts, but what your posture is when you say or do it."

  • Definitely still worth reading...especially for people involved in the more "commission" or entreprenurial pursuits

I bought this book to make sure that it would still be relevant to a new "grasshopper" that asked for guidance in his career. I remember the tenets of this book served me well as I climbed the ladder on Wall Street from 1980 to 2000. The book is still a great tutor for "Young Turks" on the rise. The title was chosen ONLY to sell more books. The author's definition of "intimidation" is to always to be the best prepared and informed person in the room, and to never let yourself be intimidated by others. That doesn't mean you can win by being an obnoxious Donald Trump and not doing your homework. He just counsels to never be caught with your pants down due to your own laziness, and you will prevail on a majority of actually "do-able deals"...and to identify which deals are actually do-able. Great refresher course for this guy who won at the game of life, even while recognizing the author's truth that "everybody wants all the chips all the time". :)
