Beautiful but has issues
It's a Leica, it's heavy, it's tactile, it's beautiful and it can take amazing shots.... But there are issues. Battery life is weak and genuine batteries are dear. The screen is poor and the buffer is slow. You need an ir cut filter or else colours can be iffy. But... It can be amazing... But realistically save up for an m9. It's basically a real camera. Like film - there's no help, no extra color saturation, no cheating filter that makes up for bad lighting. You will learn photography and understand light by the way they did in the old days. My first digital Leica was the V-lux , this has a variiable fixed lens and is ok, however the M8 has inter changeable lenses so now I can use my M and screw lenses on one camera !
