This camera wasa good purchase and upon receiving the camera and taking a few photos it was quite apparent that, even being only a 4 MP camera, it was actually far better in both picture quality and ease of use than my 6 MP Hitachi camera. The overall look and feel of the camera was sturdy and robust and during pictures taken at night, it once again out-shone my 6 MP Hitachi. The quality of night pictures was very good and was able to cope with taking pictures in a dark room from a couple of meters away without losing any picture integrity, with my other camera you literally have to be stood within a couple of feet or it becomes very grainy and even changing the ISO settings didn't help. Now for the not so good. About a week after receiving the camera i put it in my bag to go to work and upon taking it out to take a few snaps i noticed that a dark inky splodge had appeared inside the flash and hence since then the flash has failed to work. I can only presume that the bulb had broken but could not be sure as i'm no camera expert. Thankfully that is about the only problem i have had with the camera. I am sure there are far superior cameras out there but for a cheap camera to take out for snaps in both daylight and at night i couldn't be more impressed. I am saying this on the assumption that the flash incident is an isolated one and i was just unlucky.Read full review
FIRSTLY I HAD HELPFUL COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE SELLER, REALLY HONEST. THE CAMERA IS A REALLY GREAT CAMERA, IT IS COMPACT AND PRODUCES VERY GOOD PHOTOS - THE SOFT WEAR IS VERY EASY TO INSTALL AND IF YOU HAVE VISTA YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE SOFT WEAR FROM THE OLYMPUS.COM SITE AS WELL SO IT IS COMPATIBLE HAS MANY SIMPLE OPTIONS TO USE AND ALSO VIDEO. GREAT PRODUCT I AM SO PLEASED AS I DID GET IT AT A VERY GOOD PRICE VALUE
I was looking for a camera with up to 5 megapixels, decent flash, removeable memory card & compatible with standard batteries, all for under £50. I found this, & with the exception of having to fork out extra for the XD memory card, I was well chuffed!!!! I took over 160 pix on my first night out wi it in a club where the pix often get smoky due to the smoke machine, these were as clear as a bell!!!! Looked like there was room on a 1gig card for loads more too!!! Easy to use as long as ya invest in quality batteries like Duracell, cheap ones last for 1 photo!!!!! Easy to install on an XP operated computer too!!! Pix are all in JPG format making them easier to store & upload!!! All in all, works well, comes with all ya need plus a wee bit more (notable exception: the memory card), & a joy to use!!!Read full review
This is a great little camera. I've bought 2 now for my kids to use (age 8 & 9) and they love them. Not the smallest camera, but that means they have a better grip. They can click away, delete the bad shots on-camera, zoom and even do little videos. Downside is the vids have no sound. Std alkaline batteries don't last too well either but rechargeable AA's are cheap now :) Film would have cost more in developing in the first week than I paid for both cameras put together! Picture quality is good because the lens is good and I never print bigger than 6 x 4 so 4Mp is plenty. If you want super-fast shooting, huge zoom ability and massive mega pixels you'll need to look elsewhere, but I love these cameras, they're tough, simple and good quality.A 128Mb memory card will give 130 pics at max quality, my 2Gb card gives 2063 pics at max 4Mp! If your kids keep pestering to borrow your camera, buy them an FE100 - it's a brilliant starter camera.Read full review
