I saw this for sale and checked out IR photography before buying. I have added my own Olympus zuiko 50 mm 1.4 (fast lens) and get great photographs. Since the camera is modified to light from 590nm upwards I have bought and can add filters at 680 and 720nm. As experts will know, one of the benefits of IR is extreme clarity, the other is apparent shifts in colour and along with Photoshop modifications, I am getting some superb images.

Still an excellent little dslr - great image quality for a 10megapixel camera, easy to use, no video - just photos - enough said!

I am aware that this model is now a couple of years old now but it is my fist move into Digital SLR Photography from 35mm SLR. Being familiar with the Oympus OM1 35mm format I was relieved that this looks like and feels like its ultra light twin. I immediately started playing with it and looks are all that this has in common. The digital wizardry constantly surprising. Each time I couldn't do something with it I referred to the instruction manual and navigated around the problem and 'Eureka! how simple was that. I couldn't get focus on a small item and was already scouting the market to buy Macro Close up filters because of the focal length restrictions, then 'refer to manual' 'select the correct setting' problem solved. I am and will for some time no doubt be thumbing through the manual but this has made photography exciting again and once I get the hang of this I am looking forward to getting another higher spec model.Read full review
After looking at the reviews of the various makes and models of digital SLR cameras, I bought this camera kit so I could get back into SLR photography. I have a fair understanding of the basic technique so it is perfecting of these that I wish to undertake. This camera is ideal as it is easy to use in the fully automatic mode and then adjust the functions as you become more confident with it. Having the extra lenses means you can photograph almost anything and don't find you haven't the equipment to do so, it is then down to your proficientcy with the camera and settings. Downloading the photos onto the computer couldn't be simpler and using the medium resolution means excellent definition and a reasonable quantity of memory. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to expanding my expertise.Read full review
Easy to use, loads of features, small and compact quality speaks for itself. Even as a novice with 28 scene modes and full auto settings any situation can be easily captured. Good choice of lenses available secondhand at reasonable prices make this a camera worth a look
I have had a fair few camera's starting from the Canon G5, and this is one of them great camera's that will be remembered well after their time. It is small, relatively compact and produces great images. So much can be added to it, and there is a vast range of add ons... Dont spend £100's more on a Canon EOS digital SLR, save loads and get this instead! picture quality is as good, and you have cash in your pocket! WIN WIN!
Nice camera which is easy to use but bear in mind that this is just to body and you are unable to take pictures without a compatible lens (one specifically for Olympus) as others will not fit. Its not too heavy and the best part of it is the "eye" view finder - which I think all cameras should have. The digital screen is all well and good but have found to be useless in very sunny weather (which we have been fortunate enough to experience in the UK this summer!!!) its a case of point shoot and hope for the best.. which is not always successful.
