  • Pentax K200D excellent value

Although a slightly older DSLR and not as many bells and whistles as the newer ones it is a solidly well made camera.. Also as with all Pentax cameras it will accept and use All of the pentax "K" mount lenses from fully manual up to fully auto. This is the third K2ooD body I now own and use regularly. I use a pair of them for stereo photography the third for general use, all give faultless service. Some may concider the weight a disadvantage but I find it with the auto stabilising of of images make camera shake on photos a thing of the past with lenses up to 500mm, if careful even 800mm is possible hand held, I use mine with an 420 to 800mm tele-zoom and 500mm mirror down to Fish eye using various lenses. I would say from experience that the 55-300mm pentax lens is a perfect addition to the classic kit zoom (I tried the 55-200 lens but was disappointed). Overall like all Pentax cameras if you get a good one you won't be disappointed it is a camera that goes from fully auto to fully manual and performs well. I found 1. do NOT fit a split image focussing screen, it is a waste of time and money. 2 it does benefit from changing the eye piece and adding one of the after-market magnifying ones (I use a 1.6X times one) that makes focussing (manual) far easier.
