A product of its time but still very good
The C-8080WZ was released in 2004 so certain allowances must be made. For instance, the rear screen is tiny by modern standards, the ISO range is not great, and the processor is pretty slow saving RAW files. But look beyond that and it is a fantastic, feature-packed camera that delivers excellent image quality thanks mainly to its lens, which is probably the best ever lens put in a compact digicam. Also there is a wealth of buttons and manual controls that make it very easy to set up and use. The large battery gives excellent battery life and there is also the option for DC power when using the camera in a studio setting. It has slots for two cards, switchable on the fly, which is more useful than you might think. The best SLR-look-alike available
This is my second C-8080. My first one still works after over 1,000,000 photos but had developed the odd problem. I bought another one, virtually unused, as I can't be without it. I originally chose the C-8080 to keep the SLR feel without the need to carry heavy lenses. I do a lot of stock photography and macro work.
