Cracking little camera that still cuts the mustard. Forget megapixels. This will give you professional quality results at a fraction of the cost. The 10m mp is far superior to my other 13m mp camera. It is the lens quality and image sensor that is important.

The camera does not seem to recognise two Auto Focus lenses I know both of them work as I tried them on my old 501 shame as the quality of image using manual lenses is impressive. Still trying to figure out what the problem is .

If you are new to photography and don’t want a bridge camera this Nikon D80 10.2 megapixel camera will be a great choice. I used one until recently and have got some fantastic photos. This is an relatively inexpensive DX cropped sensor camera that enables you to get crystal clear shots without spending a bomb on equipment. Very easy to use and more than capable for any type of photography. I would thoroughly recommend a D80 Nikon to anyone looking to get into photography.

I bought this camera as a repair project, but i had very little to do as soon as i put a new charged battery in it powered up so that was a bonus from the start, the only other part missing was the rubber terminal cover, this i obtained from eBay, so i now have a good working back up digital camera, for a very reasonable price.

The D80 is a very capable camera. Given the price ou can one one for, it's a bargain. Would get this one over any D3xxx or D5xxx any day. Bought it because of the AF motor, since I have a lot of non-motorized lenses that I wanted to use. I was expecting much lower performance from a model this old. I was surprised by the quality of the files. Yes, there are some features that might keep gadget-freaks away: no live-view, no video, no HDR or any other pseudo-photography crap. It's a photo camera, not a smartphone!
Easy to use and superior in quality to my previous D40. With the additional battery grip it is easy to hold and well balanced Thoroughly recommend

I love the D80 It's a camera you have to think to be able to use So, capable of taking great photos... depending on the photographer As these are progressively becoming cheaper I'd say go for it

This is my second D80 purchase(a gift to my wife). This particular D80 body appeared as new, but in general: D80 is still my favourite choice( I've got approx 80 cameras, 4 Hasselblads, 3 Leicas, 3 Contax, several Nikon F's F2, F3, F4, F5, etc) even though the model is some years old. The design is awesome, low weight and easy to use. It works like a pro! AF drive inside the body allows you to use your old AF lenses. Will recommend battery grip to faciliate the practical use, and for the appearance!
This body may not be the most advanced that Nikon produce now but it is a great workhorse and I have been extremely lucky to find one in such excellent condition. The interchangeable lenses I have all work well so no extra expense there. I can find nothing wrong with this body, it takes excellent photographs and has all the facilities that I require, if I had one comment to make it would be that it is a little on the heavy side in comparison to an up to date offering but that as far as I am concerned adds to it's stability when taking photographs.
