Quality bit of kit
This is a very well made bit of kit and is very easy to fit. Yes there are cheaper on the market but the quality doesn't look as good. The X8R linkage repair kit has the advantage of having a holding bracket on the underside held by two studs rather than just two studs that screw through which hold it in place. My only observation is that instead of two studs with philips heads on I think two small hex studs would be better and make it easier to tighten them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great piece of kit!
Bought this gear cable repair bracket when the worn nylon cap on my Renault trafics gear selector popped off.. After some research it turns out this is a common fault, and with gear cables ranging from £40 to £100 depending on make and quality i was looking at a hefty bill when you added labour. I saw the X8R kit on the search for cables. so thought it was worth a chance. The clampturned up quickly and when opened it was clear it was made of quality materials, and quality workmanship. fitting was easy and so simple! took me less than 5 minutes. Simply slide it over the nipple on the selector fork, slide the other side over the cable side and put the two screws in! Voila!! a fixed van! the hardest bit was getting my hands through past the air box hoses to the gear selector! would reccomend to anyone who has this apparently common issue with these vans.. Great item/ save your time and money
As a mechanic who doing this kind of job for ages after using this item just realized how much time and money has been wasted to replace the gear linkage cable on Vauxhall Vivaro/Nissan Primastar/Renault Trafic, also can be used on Vauxhall Corsa and Astra 2011 on. to make sure the bolt never come off I used a bit tiger seal on top of the bolts after fitting. this little part saves you a few hour's time and also saves you £168+VAT to buy the linkage cable from Vauxhall dealer.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

How to fix your linkage in 3. easy step
1. Buy this kit, 2. Spend seconds not minutes reconnecting you linkage. 3. Stand back and admire your work. From the moment of opening the parcel, you can tell that this is a well built and solid part to fix an ever so common problem. This is not a cheap thrown together kit, the two main parts interlock to create a solid hold onto the ball-joint, this does increase the distance from linkage to gearbox, slightly pulling the ball joint away from the linkage, but with a few quick test pulls and you know this isn’t coming away anytime soon. With the part being polished too, it adds a slight bit of bling under the bonnet for those that like to show off. There are cheaper alternatives on eBay but to be honest, I wouldn’t change this for one, for the quality of this kit, it’s worth the price, a lot cheaper than a link cable in time and money which will only suffer the same fate again down the line.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is a great but of kit, looks great and easy enough to fit. Unfortunately this didn't fix my problem it was more of a gear linkage adjustment problem! Don't look any further this one does the job!
Bought for and fitted in minutes to an Ex AA Renault Trafic 2.0l van. 6 speed. My nearly new gearbox linkage wore out and popped of the ball head. This two part bracket fitted perfectly.
