Buy the Correct Filter
I was trying to save money so ordered 2 other filters that were supposed to fit my refrigerator. With the first one the water and ice taste were off. With the second one the ice taste was off. I called the manufacturer of the refrigerator and was told to use the original model that came with the refrigerator. This filter states that it reduces 24 contaminants. The latest more costly ($20 more) model reduces 28 contaminants. From this I conclude that it is not the new and improved model but I will use it for 6 months and then go back to buying the more expensive model. Whirlpool Water & Ice Filter Pretty Expensive Filter
I've had several refrigerators that had ice and water filters in them. This newest refrigerator that I bought in 2021 takes only one specific type of filter which is more than I've ever paid for a filter. I don't know why this filter is close to $50 a pop.
