Welding is a relatively new thing from something I’d like to learn, I started with a very cheap helmet but couldn’t see what I’m trying to do so wasn’t very successful using that. I’ve just purchased this 3M Speedglas and wow what a difference! Plus was reduced by £70 In comparison this is like watching TV perfectly clear I wish I’d started with this! Don't waste time & money on cheap imitations
I've had several cheaper automatic welding helmets & all have failed to come up to standard, but being an occasional welder I didn't want to spend too much money. Well I've probably spent more than the price of this proper branded helmet on the cheap (& some not so cheap) imitations. Believe me, spend the extra & get one of these, it's a trusted brand, trusted by industry for years. This is their helmet for occasional/hobby welders, it works just as well as their industry ones (which are over 3 times the price) but is just not as tough, so don't tread on it or kick it about (it's still tougher than the cheap ones).
