A very simple and fast test to do that provides peace of mind. I'm basing its accuracy on the fact that it does appear to be the same test strip that the NHS uses. It's worth noting that while most of the tests indicate a pass (neg) on the left hand side, the PH and SG (Specific gravity) tests will be somewhere in the middle of the range of colours. The test is easy. While urinating, catch some in a clean jar and then dip the strip in to cover all the little squares for 2 seconds. Then take the strip out and tap it sideways on some kitchen towel to avoid the chemicals from different tests merging with each other. After a minute compare the colours with the chart on the tub to get the results.

I'm type 1 diabetic & I used to get similar things from my GP, however I saw this which were cheaper on here & thought I would give them a go. I tested my urine first thing in the morning for 5 days in a row, and each time it said I had high protein, High gravity & high PH levels, which were all indicators of kydney disease. This scared the life out of me so I went to my GP, had a blood test & it came back all clear with absalutely no signs of any problems or the suspicioun of a problem. Might as well of sold white sticks with squares coloured in with marker pens for all the use they are.

These dipsticks are the same as the NHS use. Don't forget to treat the patient though, not the dipstick result! Also don't forget to screw the top back on the jar really tightly; the nitrites test square is the one that most people want to know about, and its also the one most sensitive to moisture-ingress, which can give a false result. Don't use them past their expiry date either, for the same reason. We never go on holiday without them, and a few antibiotics too, just In case

I find these strips very good for checking one's health. I bought them for the ketone section for when I am on a diet but I found the other things being checked far more helpful. It enabled me to ask my doctor for a follow up test (which he said would be more extensive, sensitive and thorough when done by the NHS.) Which it was, and confirmed what I had read on these strips. So I very much recommend having a pot of strips at home in the medicine cupboard for the occasional testing of all the family. Take control of your own health.

I am diabetic and this product helps me control my health. It is easy to use, fast and requires no special knowledge. If certain values are outside the box, I can perform specialist examinations in a timely manner.
