The moisture meter…it’s a simple piece of kit
It’s simple but it works. I use it to measure the moisture content of my Fire Wood and it was very good value for money. It gives a moisture reading almost instantly and has a large clear display. Not as helpful as id hoped but did the job.
This detector arrived promptly and the price was competitive. It seems well made and fairly intuitive to use. The cap protecting the 4 spikes was stuck on and I had to lever it off with a strong knife. There was little in the way of instructions but it is fairly simple to use. I found it useful to detect the area with the highest reading and trace the issue giving me a problem. There was no information on what readings one might expect on say an external house wall , nor any link to a a relevant information source. It does the job
When I first tried to use it, it was only reading 1 or 2%, then I found that you really do have to make sure all the pins are in the wood as deep as you can go. The same bit of wood was 21% with the pins right in. The power on ' off is a pain as when put away in it's wallet, it always turns it's self on.
