It takes good color pictures at night, although the subject has to be fairly close to the camera (like about 10 to 15 feet) in order to have acceptable color saturation. I did have one small problem: the flash quit working after a few weeks. But the manufacturer repaired it free of charge. It has been working fine ever since.

Camera produced darn good day pics and great color night pics out to about 20 feet. However after the first few days about 25% of the night pics were totally black and by the fifth week ALL night pics are black. I believe the flash capacitor will not hold the electrical charge that is necessary to power the flash. The D-80 is also a BIG time battery eater! Moultrie no longer makes this cam so under warranty they are replacing it with the 2 year old model M-40, obviously they have plenty of the M-40's left over. The M-40 is a red flash cam which I have no use for. Normally I would give Moultrie credit for attempting to honor the warranty but they knew there were issues with the D-80's and made the decision to dump them all on the market anyway!!!

The flash only worked for the first night off and on. I had quite a few blacked out images mixed in. The next night the flash never turned on. Worked fine in daylight and picture quality was great but got nothing but completely dark images at night.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money this would be a good "entry level" camera to buy. It appears to be well made, but doesn't seem to be able to take pictures fast enough. I've had Fishers steal several bait items, but only get their picture taken one time.

Have it in the woods now. Takes good pictures and is easy to operate. Can't go wrong with a Moultrie Trail camera. Great quality at a fair price.

If you want color in your night time game camera photos, try this. The black and white of infrared is vey good — it doesn’t frighten wildlife. But it is boring and can’t show color. Some animals I photograph are purely or mostly nocturnal, like gray foxes and Florida panthers. So it’s nice to get a color shot at night, at least occasionally. I only have one white flash camera out now, and the bears have already found it and pried it open. Hopefully they will leave it alone instead of wrecking it.

Do not buy this camera! I bought 4 of them, all worked great for about 1-2 months. 3 of them started eating batteries like crazy. The batteries lasted about 2 weeks in each of them. In total there was only about 40 pictures taken on each camera. I replaced the batteries 4 times in each one of them. That is 144 batteries. 1 camera is still working like it should. I threw the other 3 in the garbage. AGAIN, DO NOT BUY! .

The Moultrie White Flash trail cam has been a good camera for me. I have had no negative issues with mine. I now have 2 of these Moultrie White Flash cams and they have been solid for me.

Good color, makes it invisible. Smaller then my old one. Simple to set up. More pixels then my old one which died from leaking batteries. Easier to remove SD card. Easier to mount on tree. Have not seen quality of pictures yet.

These cameras take totally black pics when they want. Two of them do this and will continue to do this til the batteries are dead. Like 6000 pics later.
