In the 1970s there was a blossoming of wonderful folk/rock bands, reviving traditional tunes and composing new ones in the style of ancient ballads, jigs and reels. In England, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Pentangle and Trees were at the forefront of this exciting movement. In Ireland, The Chieftains, Patrick Street and Planxty led the way. Of all these bands, Planxty were at the top, and there is no better example of their finely-crafted music than their album, The Woman I love So Well. Thus remastered CD sounds wonderful and reminds us of what a tremendous band they were. Any fan of any of the bands mentioned in thus review should own this album. Buy it!!!
