Noisy, but does the job well
Does a very good job at cooling. For a 8000BTU unit it is quite noisy. I know they're all noisy, but I have a few of these units ranging from 7000BTU to 9000BTU so able to compare them. This one is as noisy as the 9000BTU unit I have, and the fan speeds are not really high and low, they're more like high and even higher. All the sleep mode does is dim the display, it doesn't make the fan any quieter. Also the exhaust tube is a bit stiffer than most, and a bit difficult to manouvre. But yes, it does cool very well. I would recommend it for a small lounge or other living space, but not really for a bedroom as a bit too loud.
