This is a pretty amazing microphone which I can't believe how Chord can produce for the money. I compared it back to back with an EV 757a and a Shure SM58 Beta. Now, if you're conversant with microphones you're probably thinking how on earth can a sub £20 microphone possibly compete with 2 models which cost as much as 7 times the price of the Chord. I tested the Chord for tone, the Chord had a much warmer tone than the Shure or the EV 757a. It was also appreciably louder than either of the other microphones. It has an overall tone which is very similar to the standard version of the Shure SM58. It possess that slightly muffled but balanced tone that the standard SM58 has but overall it has a clear tone. Feedback rejection was absolutely brilliant and the microphone demonstrated better feedback rejection than either the EV or the Shure. I really can't believe how good this microphone sounds especially given the huge price difference when compared to the 2 microphones mentioned. The body build quality of the microphone is solid and it has a quality look and feel. If you find this review hard to believe, do yourself a favour and buy one of these blind and prepare to be amazed.
