Light Brown this is not!!!
Stirred well before applying. Poured it out into a paint bucket and it was as near black as you would have expected from creosote. There’s no way this product could be described as “Light Brown”. It is in fact “Very Dark Brown” as you would expect of creosote. Only did a test patch of two square feet to confirm this was no where near the product colour that was described. Applies easy enough, and soaks in with all the attributes you would expect of a good (albeit, very dark) creosote. If you remember the rank fumes you used to get from creosote then you won’t be disappointed as this stuff stinks to high heaven! Would not advise the use of this product near your house due to the fumes. So to sum up its very dark creosote; albeit dressed up as Creosolve. Probably very good creosote as it’s Barrettines!

Creosolve
I've used this on some fence posts, not sure what the colour should be because there was stain on them already, but it should be light brown, haven't tried it on bare timber yet, yes it smells but if it works well that's what important, I used original creosote on the fence posts on a fence I built over 26 years ago, and now I notice o e or two of them rotting in the ground, but timber was much better years ago aswell.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
