A fun, comic book-feel adventure movie!
While this movie may not get great stellar reviews, it was exactly what I was in the mood for. This movie has heroes versus monsters without a lot of over-acting and emoting. It really is similar to a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode. The supporting characters are interesting and actually contribute more than just moral support. The movie is in French, so if you watch it and don't know that language you'll be reading the subtitles, but I really enjoyed this movie anyways. The movie has a great comic book feel to it. I am not familiar with Bloody Mary, I don't know if this story derives from some comic book published somewhere, but it very much has a great comic book feel to it. There is no slow origin story; you get introduced to the characters and zoom out into the action. It was a good movie with which to celebrate the Halloween season. I'm glad someone took the time to make this film. Despite the 5-star reading, I'm sure if someone took the time to nitpick, they could find insufficiencies with the special effects or the story or the acting or what have you, but I enjoyed it and if you're able to sit back and just enjoy an adventure than you'll probably enjoy it too. There is some bad language, though. So be wary of that.
