  • Atmospheric Horror Anthology

The movie was originally made in Italy, and wound up being released in two primary language formats - English and dubbed English. Italian, Italian dubbing, plus English subtitles. American International Pictures (AIP) released the first in the U.S. with segment order switched around, music changes, and more graphic/explicit scenes removed. Save for the dubbing of Boris Karloff (his voice is too distinctive), the original Italian version is superior and this is the version on this Blu-ray. He appears doing narration to the audience (more in the AIP version) and appears in the segment called "The Wurdulak". I'm glad I could find this for a reasonable deal since the AIP version is more readily available. The movie itself is certainly atmospheric, and divided into three memorable segments. I've also seen it available on YouTube, but I wanted the Blu-ray. Check out both versions of the movie if you like, but I'm betting you'll also like the Italian version better, too. Watch through the final frames.
