Very pleased with the air2air EcoSilent 12000BTU, and am using it as a heat source ...
Years ago I had invested in a similar device but with only 7000 or 9000BTU and in Winter it was mostly always running, to keep the room warm, and often froze up!! So this time I decided to invest in a 12000BTU machine. The first few days I was in battle with it and wondered whether to return it or not!!, until I understood it isn't like a conventional heater that comes on every 10 minutes to keep the air at a constant temperature. The EcoSilent only comes on every 30 minutes or so (at lower temperatures, I think), which means that after heating the room to 18C, by the time it comes on again the room temperature has dropped to say 15C (depending on outside temperature) which was too big a temperature swing for me. Before buying the EcoSilent I was using a thermoelectric air2water2air mini 160 Watt maximum room warmer (or cooler), but it was lacking power on cold days, so I had to keep the electric heater fan on. Now the EcoSilent pumps heat into the room every half hour for about 5 minutes (or 10 minutes for the whole apartment) to heat the walls of the room and to charge the water of the peltier heater. 3C outside, constant 17.2C in room at the moment!! A steady 17 to 18C is how I like it in Winter!! It is satisfying to know that most of the heat is coming from the outside air, and that I'm doing my bit against Global warming!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice and compact
