  • Great, Hilarious, true blue Aussie humour of yester year 👍

Excellent look into 1960s Sydney . Hilarious and politically incorrect But great watching

  • We really are a weird mob.

This early Australian movie is culturally insensitive at so many levels, but is a rearward view into 1960's Australia. My children enjoyed it remembering the language of their cherished Poppy. We spent a lot of time discussing the movie and the 'time' in Australia's recent past. It was great fun.

  • In one word, excellent !!!

It brings back a lot of memories and good ones at that, it's a great movie of times gone by and will never be the same as that time is now lost forever and today's society is nothing like that time and never will be again

  • A bit of Aussie nostalgia

Have read the book & thoroughly enjoyed it so thought I would get the DVD. As usual the film is not as faithful to the book . Still it has its lighthearted moments & was a great reminder about Australia in the 60's when immigration was with us , the building trade was booming & the Australian way of life was simpler & life in general more easygoing .

  • “Weird” means different things now. So “New Aussies” better

Rather old fashioned now but watched it with immigrant person & we had a good laugh.

  • Marvellously nostalgic classic!

Tremendous fun to revisit this movie. Even though it is a little dated - esp attitudes to women - it is a warm, very funny story about Australians from an outside view.

  • Brought back great memories from when it was first released. Would not appeal to younger people

  • True Blue Movie

I still enjoy this movie even though many years have passed. It shows Australian life at that time, the characters are like people you knew. It is a shame we can't go back to that time.

  • A rare slice of 60's Sydney

"Weird Mob" has a real charm. While it might not be great filmmaking, to see Sydney in the 60's in vibrant colour is such a treat. A hint: if you look it up on IMDB you can find the address of the house they were building and then Google Earth it to see what it looks like today.
