'Into The Labyrinth' of 1993 is Dead Can Dance's sixth album, one of their most successful releases, its title a reference to the Greek legend of Theseus going into the Labyrinth to slay the Minotaur. It came when Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard had embarked on more individual personal paths, now writing their songs independent of one another, and on separate continents. Engineered and produced by Brendan at his Quivvy Church studio in Ireland, the album is an audiophile benchmark and also noted for being their first without any guests, instead they played all the instruments.

Reviews4 Stars - Excellent - "...Dead Can Dance have patched together a bright, homemade musical quilt that defies the world to call it pretentious....yet for all its strangeness, INTO THE LABYRINTH is surprisingly functional...", "...Dead Can Dance return with atmospheric, gothic tracks positively untethered to this earth..." - Rating: A-, "...INTO THE LABYRINTH is an ambitious, astoundingly serious double-album, fusing global folk-music with a more focused, gloomy English pop...Dead Can Dance are, ultimately masters of their own sound...", "...Lisa Gerrard's voice is breathtaking.... Dead Can Dance are more in tune with the spirit of the times than they've ever been before..."
