The first in the "Shopaholic" series, "Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic" is a very well written story. Rebecca can't stop herself giving in to the temptation of splashing out on new clothes and accessories -- all forms of shopping in fact -- and finds herself in debt. She hides bills or throws them away to avoid facing up to the fact that she sometimes cannot repay even the minimum monthly amount. However, she is a very engaging and resourceful young woman, even though she has an ingrained tendency to stray from the truth when under stress (for example, she avoids meeting her bank manager by giving him various made-up and unlikely excuses). However, by the end of the story, she has an exciting and lucrative new career opportunity and a new romance has just begun. Highly recommended.
