Secure feeding for small ground feeding birds.
Bird food put inside the cage is available only to smaller birds such as robins, sparrows, finches and tits. Larger birds can only look on. I have marauding Jackdaws and rooks which used to clear up all the food in a few minutes. Now the small birds can have food all day. The cage is easy to assemble and is made entirely of plastic covered steel. There is a hatch in the top which can be secured if necessary and pegs to hold the cage down. It is easy to move so can be sited on a lawn. Similar protection can be given to larger birds such as thrushes and blackbirds by a similar cage with larger mesh size.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not starling proof
This is a very well made product but we bought it hoping it would keep the starlings away from our ground feeders. Unfortunately they still get through the smaller holes and eat all the food we are trying to feed the small birds with. Think holes possibly need to be a bit smaller as we have now bought nearly every feeder on the market to try to deter the larger birds but all to no avail. I am really happy with my mesh feeder. It keeps the food safe for smaller birds and predators can't get through. Only downside is, the Starlings can still gobble up a lot of it but Robin and other small birds still manage to get some too. Keep the big birds away
