Pretty Good Story but Different Than the Movie
This is the novel on which the Kevin Costner & Robert Duval movie "Open Range" is based. The first half of the novel tracks very closely to the movie. However, the last half is different. The big shootout in the end takes place at the bad guys camp site and involves the character played by Kevin Costner and a federal marshal (not in the movie). Good story but SPOILER..... Boss gets killed.

The writing was just OK, and the story was not nearly as good as the screen play starring Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner. Veryy disappointed.
