I have used this specific make and type of lopper for some years whilst doing volunteering work around canals and woodlands. Always been impressed, so just bought my own pair for use at home. Best for all the 'grunt' work. If you're bothered about leaving a perfect cut on the plant I believe a pair of bypass loppers are the best for the last cut (as an anvil can leave a crush injury on the stem).
