This a true 80s film camera flash. From the days when film was king, you didn't have to do anything except press a button and flash guns and cameras had just started to get on with each other.
It's huge though, probably matched by a small built in flash on a modern dslr, but, you just have to get one if you have an original minolta AF with the standard iso hot shoe.
Honestly, if you put a beer can lens onto an AF9000 with winder and battery packs this flash will still make the camera look small.
It's infrared double focus aid will give your subject a sun tan, be aware though, recycling time is in weeks rather than seconds. Fun,10, function 8, size ? +/- house brick cool factor 9,
I bought the CG1000 grip and 4000 AF flash to use with my 7000 and 9000AF cameras. The best thing about the CG1000 is there is no cables to connect the camera to the flash, its connected through the base of the camera to the flash contacts in the grip. The grip takes six AA battery's which also power the flash and cuts recycling time. The flash needs no battery's while on the grip. The only negative is you cant use other cameras because of a small post that lines the camera to the grip base contacts, this gets in the way. You can use other flash guns as there is a PC socket in the grip.
